Karen D. Sullivan, PhD, ABPP

Karen is a board-certified clinical neuropsychologist and owner of Pinehurst Neuropsychology, Moore County’s only dementia-devoted practice. She became a dementia care partner at age 15 and completed her post-doctoral fellowship at the Boston VA/Harvard Medical School decades later, both experiences have shaped her lifelong commitment to transforming the experience of brain change. Dr. Sullivan led The Engaged Brains Project as the inaugural Reid Healthcare Transformation Fellow of the Foundation of FirstHealth with the goal of creating new dementia care pathways in the local community and healthcare system. Karen has trained thousands of community members and healthcare professionals in person-centered dementia care. She also reaches more than 120,000 people through her “I Care For Your Brain” social media platform, bringing accessible, compassionate no-cost brain health education to a global audience.
